On December 11, 2012 as heavy snow falls, eight of the Lamar Canyon wolves relax and scavenge a winter kill bull elk in the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Just a few days earlier (December 6, 2012), the female alpha (832F), a radio collared and human habituated Lamar Canyon wolf pack member was killed by a hunter just outside the park. High numbers of wolves fitted with radio collars have been killed just outside Yellowstone.
