Golubac Fortress | Serbian Golubac Fortress (Serbian: Golubački grad) is a medieval fortification located on the southern bank of the Danube River, 4 km downstream from the town of Golubac, Serbia. The place changed hands numerous times between Turks, Serbs, Bulgarians, Hungarians and Austrians until 1867, when it was handed over to the Serbian Kniaz Michael III Obrenović. Today the fortress is a very popular tourist attraction in the region and one of the most visited places on the Danube boat routes.
