Password problems

What can I do if I forget my password? 

Don't worry, it happens to the best of us. If you forgot your password, just click 'Reset your password' and input your email address or member name. After a few minutes, you’ll receive a password reset link, which is valid for 24 hours. If you don't see the password reset email in your inbox, please check your junk folder.

If you don’t receive an email after multiple attempts, an account with the credentials you’re using may not exist.

Why didn’t I receive an email when I tried to reset my password?

When you request a password reset, we send an email to the address associated with your account. It may take a few minutes to arrive.

If, after a few minutes, you still haven’t received an email in your inbox, please verify that the email address or member name you provided is the same you used to register for your account, and that you’re checking your junk folder.

How long does it take for the password reset email to arrive?

Your password reset email should arrive just a few minutes after you request it. 

Why can't I request another password reset link? 

Our system only allows for a password reset link to be sent a few times. Please use the latest reset link you received to set a new password.

If you haven't received a link and have input the correct email address or member name, please contact us for further assistance.

What’s the character requirement for my password?

To keep your account safe and secure, passwords on iStock are case-sensitive and require the following:

  • 8-character minimum
  • One letter and one number

Keep getting signed out

If you keep getting signed out of iStock and have to sign in again, it could be that your site cookie has expired. This happens automatically after 24 hours of inactivity.

If you are being directed to the checkout page even after completing your purchase, try clearing your browser cache and cookies then signing back in. To complete the download, you can find your image using the iStock file ID or your browser history.

If you're having problems with iStock, it might help to clear your browser cache and cookies.

Each browser is a little different, so be sure to follow the instructions for the one you're using:

Getting 404 error

If you get a 404 error, it means that we can't find the page you're looking for. This could happen for a number of reasons - it could be that the page has been moved or renamed and we can't find the new location. It might also be that the file you're looking for is no longer available on iStock - from time to time contributors will remove one of their files. Since we don't have the file any more, we'll show you a 404 error instead.
