African American Family celebrating Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration held in the United States honoring African heritage and culture. In this illustration the father is lighting a kinara (candle holder). Kwanzaa consists of seven days of celebration, featuring activities such as candle-lighting and pouring of libations, and culminating in a feast and gift giving. The seven embody the 7 principles: unity (Umoja), self-determination (Kujichagulia), collective work and responsibility (Ujima), cooperative economics (Ujamaa), purpose (Nia), creativity (Kuumba), and faith (Imani). Simple gradients used in this picture.
