Frequently asked questions
I have a Premium + Video subscription. How can I start to download music and sound effects?
Just sign in with your account and click the Explore Epidemic Sound button at the top of this page to continue to our partner site and start searching.
Your plan gives you access to every music track and sound effect available from Epidemic Sound.
Can I use credits to purchase royalty-free music for videos?
Do royalty-free audio downloads count towards my iStock subscription download limit?
Can I download music in stems or audio layers?
Yes. You can download everything in the library as a full track or in stems, which lets you isolate the drums, bass, melody, or instruments.
If you need both the full track and its stems, that's ok too. They'll only count once toward your download limit.
Can I view the Epidemic Sound partner site in my local language?
Will Epidemic Sound have access to my iStock account information? If so, how do I know it’s secure?
iStock will continue to securely store and process your personal data and will only share limited required data with Epidemic Sound (your customer ID and first name).
Where and how often can I use the music or sound effects I download?
The tracks and audio clips you download come with the same standard license as any other iStock file and can be used in a wide variety of projects including advertising, websites, blogs, presentations, publications, video productions, podcasts, and more.
Since they're royalty-free, you can use them in as many projects as you want for as long as you want, within the terms of the license agreement.
Can I search for audio clips of a specific length?
Who should I credit for the music or sound effects used in my projects?

Is there a limit to how many songs or audio clips I can download each month?
Our Premium + Video plans are available with your choice of 10, 25, or 50 monthly downloads. Each gives you the freedom to use your downloads for any type of content you want: photos, illustrations, videos, music, or sound effects.
That means you can download as many audio clips as you want, as long as you stay within your monthly download limit.
I’m downloading a track and Epidemic Sound is asking if I want to publish my content / clear my video. What does this mean?
If you're planning to use your track in a video that's published on social platforms, such as YouTube, you'll need to clear your URL. This helps the platform know that you've licensed the rights to use the content, without having to incur any extra charges from Epidemic Sound.
You can clear your videos at the time of download, or later by going to the Account section on our Epidemic Sound partner site. (Click 'Me' in the top right corner.)
I want to redownload an audio clip I've already licensed, but I’m not sure how to find it again. Can you help?
Log in to our Epidemic Sound partner site and search the title of your track or click 'Me' in the top right corner and select 'Account' to see a list of your licensed tracks.
