Description
A splendid cityscape at sunset of the historic center of Rome seen from the terrace of the Aventine Hill gardens, in the heart of the Eternal City. The majestic dome of St. Peter's Basilica stands out on the horizon, while in the foreground the bell towers and buildings of the ancient Trastevere district. The Aventine Hill, one of the seven ancient hills of Rome, is one of the most visited places in the city due to the presence of gardens, Roman archaeological sites and some of the Byzantine and medieval churches, among the oldest in Rome. In 1980 the historic center of Rome was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Image in original 16:9 ratio and high definition format.
