Description
Spectacular, granite towers of Cerro Torre, (to the left) and majestic Monte Fitz Roy (in a middle) mountains in the Argentinian Patagonia visible at night under starry, moonless sky. This picture was taken on a cloudless night of March 22, 2018 just few days after the New Moon, when the brightest part of Milky Way near the Sagittarius and Scorpius constellations was shining right behind Mount Fitz Roy (3,405 m/11,171ft). The “star” on the horizon, in a valley to the right of Cerro Torre (3,128 m/10,262 ft) is actually the planet Saturn, and further up, kind of reddish, is the bright planet Mars. These mountains form part of the Los Glaciares National Park (Parque Nacional Los Glaciares), near the village of El Chalten, Argentina.
