Desert rose or lily-impala is a domesticated plant whose scientific name is Adenium obesum Balf. F. Of the family Apocynaceae, requires manual pollination for its reproduction, or else one must adopt the method of seedlings. It adapts easily to the hot and dry climate and manages to live in sunny places. Also found in Thailand, deserts and in Africa. Botanical Synonymy: Adenium coetaneum Stapf. Regas: Contrary to popular belief, the Desert Roses (Adenium) tolerate water well. What they do not tolerate is the sodden land. For this reason, it is highly recommended that Adenium growers cultivate the same on land with high level of drainage.
