Description
The Cheltenham Badlands are a series of bare, red hills and gullies in southern Ontario, northwest of Toronto, that formed as a result of overgrazing. In the 1930s, the area was still fertile, but poor farming practices wore away the topsoil, revealing the underlying shale formation high in iron oxide.
