Colombia, South America -The Catedral de Sal, Zipaquirá stock photo

Colombia, South America -The Catedral de Sal, Zipaquirá Zipaquira, Colombia - April 24, 2014: The new Salt Cathedral, in Zipaquirá, about 49 kms north of the Capital city of Bogota, at an altitude of 2652m above sea level on the Andes, in the department of Cundinamarca, Colombia, South America. The church, completed in 1995, is located several hundred feet below the surface of the earth, in an old Halite mine.. Lit by LEDs that continuously change color, it is popular with tourists and pilgrims. The cross behind the main altar is the largest 'indoor' cross in the world. The mines have been excavated from pre-Colombian times by the Muisca people dating back to the 5th Century BC. Photo in vertical format, lit entirely by the LEDs, shows the main barrel vault that is the church. It was taken from the Choir Loft, about 50 feet above the floor level of the Church, with the camera on tripod, and slow shutter speed. Two people are seen near the front: a man with a camera, and a lady kneeling in prayer. Some are seated in a pew. Cathedral Stock Photo
