As former part of Deutsche Post, Postbank branches are often part of local post offices. In 2008, Germany's largest bank, Deutsche Bank, acquired a 29 per cent stake in Postbank and has since then increased its stake, transferring Postbank to the Deutsche bank group. Postbank has a large amount of private banking accounts and has over 800 branches across Germany. Frankfurt is Germany's financial center.
