France. Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Department of Vaucluse. Near Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, the source of the River Sorgue, celebrated by the poet Petrarch in the poem "Clear, fresh sweet water". Fontaine-de-Vaucluse ("spring of Vaucluse") is built around the spring of the River Sorgue. In the 14th century, the Italian poet Francesco Petrarca lived here and celebrated with his poems this enchanted place.
