Katydid camouflaged against identical colored leaf. Would not have noticed but for his rear end, known as the cerci, sticking out on orange colored blossom. Katydids are sometimes thought of as grasshoppers or crickets but are a separate species (closer to crickets, though!). There are more than 6400 species in its family of Tettigoniidae. A very nice insect, known for its sound (sounds like 'Katy Did'), camouflage (shapes and colors like leaves), extremely long antennae (longer than the whole body).
