Description

This is a Killdeer (Charadrius vociferus) feigning two broken wings to try and draw me away from its nest. Killdeer’s are also known as a killdee or plover. The killdeer name comes from their loud piercing call that sounds like the bird is saying kill-deer or kill-dee.
