'Modlarenuth Germany - August 30, 2009: Modlarenuth is the little Berlin in the German countryside. The barriers seen in this image were erected by the Soviet Union following WWII in an attempt to keep Germanyaas people from leaving the communist controlled East to the West controlled by the US and its allies. The town of Modlarenuth was literally cut in two by the erection of this wall. This separation mimicked that of Berlin also divided by the wall.'
