Monte-Carlo is the central area of the Principality of Monaco, a city-state located on the French Riviera, near the border with Italy. This small state has an area of 0.78 square miles, and a population of 36,371. So it is the most densely populated country in the world. Monaco is governed by Prince Albert II Grimaldi. The House of Grimaldi has been ruling Monaco since 1297. French is the official language, but the Monegasque and the Italian are also spoken.
