Description
On the northernmost tip of the island of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, lies the archealogical site L'anse Aux Meadows. Discovered in 1960, it is the most famous site of a Norse or Viking settlement in North America outside Greenland, dating back to around the year 1000. This image is a distant view of the replica houses, with the azure North Atlantic Ocean in the background, on a sunny summers day.
