Description
"Built in 1918, the Percha Diversion Dam south of Truth or Consequences and north of Las Cruces in New Mexico is on the National Register of HIstoric Places. The dam along the Rio Grande ordinarily holds irrigation water for Rincon Valley farmers. But a historic drought in 2013 and previous years means that the Rio Grande in this area is dry much of the time. At the Percha Dam State Park, activities include bird watching, camping, fishing, and swimming (when water is available)."
