Description

'Long exposure in early evening at the village Matera in Basilicata. Basilicata is a region in the south of Italy.Matera is a town and a province in the region of Basilicata, sometimes referred to as Lucania, in the south of Italy. The Sassi are houses dug into the rock itself, known as ''Tuffo'', which is characteritic of Basilicata and Puglia. Many of these ''houses'' are really only caverns, and the streets in some parts of the Sassi often are located on the rooftops of other houses. Matera is the only place in the world where people can boast to be still living in the same houses of their ancestors of 9,000 years ago.'
