'Shingle Creek Preservation is located in northern Osceola County (central Florida) shown here with its cypress lined shore. It is recognized as the headwaters of the Everglades which is undergoing a major restoration. This waterway which feeds Lake Tohopekaliga (aka Lake Toho, West Lake, or simply Toho for short) has been recognized as an environmentally critical waterway by the State of Florida, Osceola County and the City of Kissimmee - all of whom are purchasing large sections of its shoreline for preservation purposes. A favorite site for environmental tourists, Shingle Creek is just minutes from Disney World and many of Orlando's other world-famous attractions and is also a major tributary to the Kissimmee chain of lakes which is a world renown Bass fishermen's paradise.'
