'The Virgin Mary Metekhi church with David the Builder statue on the cliff plateau on the top of a rocky bank of the river Mtkvari, Tbilisi, Georgia. The church was built in 1289, was destroyed and later repaired several times. The bronze equestrian statue on the left hand side of the church was made by the sculptor Elguja Amashukeli in 1961. It represents the king Vakhtang I Gorgaslan who reigned in the fifth and in the beginning of the 6th century.'
