Description
The Frankfurter (Kranz) crown cake is an old traditional German cake. The ring shape should remind of a golden crown which the German royals were once crowned in Frankfurt am Main. Made with vanilla buttercream, raspberry jelly between loose layers of sand cake, the crispy hazelnut brittle covers the cake. Candied cherries placed on top of the vanilla cream ornaments symbolize the royal rubies. This image is part of a bakery series.
