Description
Gray wolves of the Yellowstone Wapiti pack walking away and observing in the snow in late March. Once gone from Yellowstone, 41 wild wolves from Canada and NW Montana were released in Yellowstone in 1995-1997. Wolves are highly social and live in packs. This photo was captured near the Tower Junction on the western edge of Lamar Valley. Nearest communities are Mammoth Hot Springs, and Gardiner and Cooke City, Montana. Yellowstone National Park is in Wyoming and Montana in western USA.
