Description
When Ataturk, founder of new Turkey, went to the his mansion one day in the summer of 1930 in Yalova, the employees asked for permission to cut the branch of the plane tree that sank into the mansion, saying that the branch of the sycamore tree on the side hit the roof of the mansion and damaged the roof and the wall. Mr. Ataturk, instead of cutting the plane tree branch, wanted to move the building a little further on the tram rails. Moving the mansion is an important event in terms of showing the importance given to environmental consciousness by Mustafa Kemal. This event increased the awareness of both the mansion and Yalova.
