Alexandre Dumas fils 1824 – 1895 French author and playwright, best known for the romantic novel La Dame aux Camélias (The Lady of the Camellias), Son of Alexandre Dumas père ('father'), also a well-known playwright and author of classic works such as The Three Musketeers. Dumas fils was admitted to the Académie française (French Academy) in 1874 and awarded the Légion d'honneur (Legion of Honour) in 1894.
Villers-Cotterêts, France - May 27 2020: The Alexandre-Dumas museum has been open since 1905 in Villers-Cotterêts where died in 1806 Thomas-Alexandre Davy de la Pailleterie, father of the writer Alexandre Dumas and grandfather of Alexandre Dumas son, academician. The museum was awarded the Musée de France label in 2002.
Alexandre Dumas ( 24 July 1802 – 5 December 1870 ), also known as Alexandre Dumas père, was a French novelist and playwright. His works have been translated into many languages and he is one of the most widely read French authors. Many of his historical novels of adventure were originally published as serials, including The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After and The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years Later.
