The ruins of Kilchurn castle are on Loch Awe, the longest fresh water loch in Scotland. It can be accessed on foot from Dalmally road on the A85. This image was taken from the opposite bank which can be accessed form a layby on the A819.

Morning sunlight at dawn illuminates Buachaille Etive Mor (Stob Dearg). The river in the foreground is the River Coupall. Buachaille Etive Mor, translated from Scottish Gaelic as The Great Herdsman of Etive is classified as a munro, being 3353 feet in height. Located at the head of Glen Etive, this beautiful mountain is a fabulous precursor to Glencoe a further couple of miles along the A82.
