High dam of Aswan Egypt located approximately 25 km from Aswan Airport, in the south of the country, image from September 27, 2019. The main reason for the construction of the dam was to control the annual high floods of the Nile that often destroyed the crops creating true food emergencies. In addition to allowing, in the year of its inauguration, the generation of almost half of the electricity required by the country, which made it possible to expand the electricity network to the vast majority of human settlements in Egypt. The construction of the High Dam began its construction in 1960, was completed 10 years later and its total cost was 1 billion dollars. As a result of the construction of the High Dam, Lake Nasser was created, with a total area of 6000 km² and that involved the transfer of several monuments of ancient Egypt, such as the temple of Abu Simbel; In addition to forcing the migration of a large number of residents from the area.
