Oxford, England - April 26, 2018: this photo shows the beautiful stonework of the main entrance of the Bodleian Library, as seen from its large internal courtyard known as the Old Schools Quadrangle. Behind the exterior wall seen here, the two floors are known as the Proscholium (on the ground floor) and Arts End (on the first floor) completed in 1612. Above the main entrance door there is a sign in Latin stating that the library is for "the republic of the learned"; the Bodleian was the first public library in Britain. Just in front of the entrance is a statue of William Herbert, third Earl of Pembroke, who was Chancellor of the University of Oxford during part of the period of the construction of the Old Schools Quadrangle.
