There are five large, numbered Flatirons ranging from north to south (First through Fifth, respectively) along the east slope of Green Mountain, and the term "The Flatirons" sometimes refers to these five alone.

Carpenters work on a new sledding attraction at the top of Vail Mountain which overlooks the Colorado Rockies and Vail Pass. The Flatirons are rock formations in the western United States, near Boulder, Colorado, consisting of flatirons. There are five large, numbered Flatirons ranging from north to south along the east slope of Green Mountain, and the term "The Flatirons" sometimes refers to these five alone. Numerous additional named Flatirons are on the southern part of Green Mountain, Bear Peak, and among the surrounding foothills. Power was cut to 34,000 homes and over 30,000 residents were forced to evacuate. Over 500 homes were destroyed by the Marshall fire outside Boulder, Colorado which was sparked by downed power lines in high winds on December 30, 2021.

Boulder, Colorado, USA - October 18, 2015: People gather on Pearl Street on a beautiful Fall evening. The Pearl Street Mall, also referred to as Pearl Street, or Downtown Boulder, is a four block pedestrian mall in Boulder, Colorado. The pedestrian area stretches from 11th Street to 15th Street along Pearl Street and is home to a number of businesses and restaurants as well as the Boulder County Courthouse. The Pearl Street Mall is a popular destination for tourists visiting Boulder and for students attending the nearby University of Colorado Boulder. The mall hosts a blend of locally-owned businesses and national chain stores and restaurants. It is also home to much of Boulder’s nightlife. During the summer months, Pearl Street Mall is the stage for a number of street performers, including musicians. It is also a favorite gathering spot for many of Boulder’s homeless people.
