This is a time-lapse image of Comet Lulin at it's closest approach to the earth on February 24, 2009. There are a total of 10 images stacked upon each other. Each image exposure was 5 minutes. If you examine the image closely, you will see 10 "comet heads" which reflects how much the comet traveled over the 50 minute time span.
