The old metal keyhole is engraved and ornate, held by screws in the thick wooden door, which has large round headed metal nails close to the edge of the door frame. The door is worn down and weathered from many hundreds of years of use. It is covered in scratches and marks from the hands that have opened and closed it over the years.
