"Black Rosy Finch seen from the Sandia Crest house cafei on Saturday, February 26, 2005 during low visibility under heavy cloud and snowstorm. These alpine forest natives feed on the ground in small flocks. Employees of the Crest House, located at the highest point in the Sandia Mountains, feed the birds. A volunteer organization researches the birds and organizes the feeding project. People come from all over the world to see these finches, as they are very easily accessible from Albuquerque's airport."
