Three walkers are seen walking towards the popular granite tor of Haytor on Dartmoor. Even my mother walked up to it and she was 80 at the time. It is at approximately 1500 feet. It is in Devon UK.

The flooded remains of the 19th century Haytor Quarry, in production between 1820 and 1850. Haytor Quarry is one of a number of disused quarries and is located on the northeastern side of Dartmoor National Park. Granite from this quarry was used for many important building projects around the country, including the British Museum, the General Post Office and London Bridge.

The granite outcrops in Dartmoor are known as ‘tors’ Dartmoor is situated in the south-west of the UK in an area often known as the West Country. It is a tourist destination. The photo was taken in April 2021.

Haytor ia a granite tor in the east of Dartmoor National Park, and one of it’s famous landmarks. At a heigt of 457 m (1499 ft) it is a fantastic lookout and climbing venue.

Haytor is a 1500 foot granite tor on Dartmoor and very popular place to visit and also climb.

With the moor in bloom this is the view from Haytor rocks looking towards the top car park and on towards the sea and Teignmouth in August with fair weather cumulus clouds present

In 1953, Haytor was used as a major location for the feature film Knights of the Round Table starring Robert Taylor and Ava Gardner. Haytor remains one of Dartmoors most famous landmarks.
