Kodaikanal, India - November 10, 2007: Looking from the Kodaikanal Lake on the Palani Hills, in the South Indian State of Tamil Nadu located at about 7000 feet above mean sea level to the Carlton Hotel. The colonial town and hill station, was set up by the British when they were in India. Several tourists' cars can be seen parked by the lakeside. The beautiful Gundar Waterfalls are located in deep forest on the way to the Poomparai Village at a distance of around 15 kms from Kodaikanal. More than the waterfalls, the 400 meters walk through the forest looks interesting and tranquil. It is a secluded little known forest with full of tall pine trees and the view is breathtaking.

The 10-day annual Kodai Vizha and the 58th Flower Show celebrated from May 30 to June 1 (three days) in Kodaikanal, Tamilnadu. During the festival, folk arts and dance, traditional sports, boat race and dog show would be conducted jointly by the Department of Tourism and Horticulture.
