One Batfish, aka Longfin Spadefish, has gathered. Coral reefs worldwide are suffering damage at an alarming rate. Mainly due to global warming, pollution and ocean acidification. Artificial reefs are being built in an attempt to revive and restore corals. Location is Viking Bay, Phi Phi Le, Krabi province, Thailand.

Longfin Batfish Platax teira occurs in the Indo-West Pacific in a depth range from 3-25m, max. length 70cm. Platax teira feeds on plankton, sessile invertebrates, small invertebrates and marine algae. The species is quite curious: During the safety stop the Longfin Batfishes approach often and check the divers. Raja Ampat, Indonesia, 0°30'57" S 130°40'24" E at 3m depth
