Military paratrooper. This jumper configuration indicates a special operations mission, using the MC-5 Static Line/Free Fall Ram Air Parachute System (SL/FF RAPS). The system allows for a higher drop altitude, typically 12,500 feet, and a longer distance to the target, typically 2 miles or so. The parachute system also allows the jumper to carry up to 100 pounds of equipment. The jumper is holding the adjustable toggles that allow him to "steer" the direction of his fall. It is located at the northern end of Crawford Notch and is one of the last surviving grand hotels in the White Mountains. It was extensively renovated in 1999. It is a National Historic Landmark. P 38 Lightning World War 2 Fighter plane. Over 10,000 were built during World War 2, and it the only fighter that was in continuous production throughout the war. It was flown by America's highest scoring ace, Richard Bong, who is credited with 40 kills. The P 38 was highly effective in a variety of combat roles, including dogfighting, ground attack, and bomber escort. One of the P 38's most famous missions was the its role in the intercept and shooting down of a Japanese bomber carrying Admiral Yamamoto, resulting in his death. Chino, California, USA May 4, 2019

Construction of the Shell Pennsylvania Petrochemicals Complex along the Ohio River in Beaver County, PA. The location is 25 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. The rocket is being towed up the shipping channel on the barge on which it landed on 12/13/2020 following a successful satellite launch. She is an Essex-class aircraft carrier commissioned in 1943, and was named in commemoration of the USS Yorktown which was lost in the Battle of Midway. Her US Navy classification number is CVA-10.
