L 14-15,5 cm. Breeds in open country, on heaths and moors (very common), coastal meadows, pastures and bogs. Resident in Britain & Ireland, where also large passage (March-May, and esp. September – October) and many winter visitors from NE. This is a common Species in the Netherlands on the described Habitats.
