These Spotted Hyena (Crocuta crocuta) chased the pride of Lions that killed this African Buffalo (Syncerus caffer) off their kill in the early morning. Whilst feeding on the carcass, they kept a nervous eye out for the Lions that may come and reclaim their meal. The Spotted Hyena is known as a scavenger, but is in fact a skilled hunter as well.
