Jerash is an ancient Roman town in the Northen part of Jordan. It was once called Gerasa and played an important role in the trade between the Roman Empire and Arabia and Judea. Quite a few impressive ruins had been excavated including the Artemis Temple, theatres, the Forum and the colonnaded street of Cardo. Emperor Hadrian has an arch here as well.
