Thimphu, Bhutan: Buddhist religion decoration of a traffic circle - Apsaras are considered beings on different planes of existence than humans, though subject to the cycle of life, death, and reincarnation (samsara). Apsaras can be found, in a narrative of the Jatakas ("birth stories"), in which the deeds of the Buddha in his previous lives are told. The Catudvara-Jataka tells of Mittavinda, greedy and attached to worldly pleasures, who, among others, encounters some Apsaras on his travels. In the end, he is taught by the Buddha, in one of his previous bodhisattva incarnations, that all worldly pleasures are impermanent.

Buddha Dordenma is height 51.5 metres and it is made of bronze and gilded in gold.
