Rome, Italy, December 16 -- A characteristic Vespa scooter parked in Vicolo di Santa Maria in Trastevere, an ancient alley of the Rione Trastevere, in the historic heart of Rome. A detail on the sign with the name of the street indicates R.XIII at the top right, which marks in Roman numerals the XIII district of Trastevere of the 22 historic districts of Rome. Trastevere is an iconic quarter of the Eternal City, due to the presence of countless artistic and historical treasures, monuments and ancient Romanesque and Baroque churches, but also for its squares and hidden alleys to be explored freely, where it is easy to find typical restaurants, pubs, small shops of artisans and scenes of daily life with the original Roman soul. In 1980 the historic center of Rome was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Image in high definition format.
