Troubadour and minstrel Meister Heinrich Frauenlob - Heinrich von Meissen ( Codex Manesse in Heidelberg ) Zürich, ca. 1300 -1340 Heinrich Frauenlob ( between 1250 and 1260 - 29 November 1318 ), sometimes known as Henry of Meissen (Heinrich von Meißen), was a Middle High German poet, a representative of both the Sangspruchdichtung and Minnesang genres. Troubadour and minstrel Ulrich von Liechtenstein ( Codex Manesse in Heidelberg ) Zürich, ca. 1300 -1340 Ulrich von Liechtenstein ( ca. 1200 – 26 January 1275 ) was a German minnesinger and poet of the Middle Ages. He wrote poetry in Middle High German and was author of noted works about how knights and nobles may lead more virtuous lives. Ulrich was a member of a wealthy and influential ministerialis family from Liechtenstein in Styria. He initiated the Barons' Crusade, was famous as a trouvere, and was the first Frenchman to rule Navarre.
