An inflorescence of a species of Showy Mistletoe (Tristerix verticillatus), in the family Loranthaceae, growing in central Chile. Members of this group infect host trees and bushes with a seed that penetrates the bark as it germinates, and the mistletoe then extracts some nutrients from the host plant as well as having functional photosynthetic, green leaves itself.
