In March 2014, the Thai Navy sunk their decommissioned Supply Vessel Kled Gaeow/Glaed Gaeo. This was done with the intention of creating a dive site i.e. an artificial reef. Today the shipwreck is an abundance of tropical fish life with shoals of Two Spot Snapper (Lutjanus biguttatus) and Bigeye Snapper (Lujanus lutjanus). A large Porcupine fish (Diodon hystnx) aka Balloonfish, swims amongst the shoal. The large school of fish group together as a means of protection from predators. This is a typical animal behaviour that ensures the species survival. This is now a popular dive site in the Phi Phi Archipelago.
