Saint Elizabeth in the court of the Wartburg helps the poor. Elizabeth of Hungary (also Elizabeth of Thuringia, 1207 – 1231) was a princess of the Kingdom of Hungary, Countess of Thuringia. She became a symbol of Christian charity, and is still revered worldwide. Woodcut engraving after a drawing by Gustav Heinrich Naecke (German painter, 1785 - 1835), published in 1877.
