This antique copper engraving of a stationary steam engine dates from around 1842, and was made by George Aikman (1788-1865). Judging by its plate number, it probably came from the 7th Edition of Encyclopedia Britannica. Captions: Steam Engine. Plate CCCCLXXV (475). (Caption omitted) Geo. Aikman, Sculpt.
