A view from the lookout of the Sydney's step track in Lane Cove National park. Features of this walk include scenic outlooks of the upper Lane Cove River valley, rock outcrops, heath, woodlands, closed forest and quiet shady creeks. The area offers excellent bird watching opportunities for bushland species such as Grey Fantails, Yellow Robins and Red-browed Finches. You may even see uncommon or rare birds like the Pacific Baza, Powerful Owl or Gang Gang Cockatoo. Quiet observers may see other wildlife including frogs, water dragons or native fish in and around the creeks.
