Frederick II (1194 - 1250) from the House of Hohenstaufen was from 1198 king of Sicily, from 1211/12 German king and from 1220 until his death, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. Exact replica (lithograph) from Frederick's book “De arte venandi cum avibus (The art of hunting with birds)” from a manuscript in the Biblioteca Vaticana (late 13th century), published in 1880.
