Description
Aerial view of Burra's Big Hole, the former Monster Mine, now a green lake, in northern South Australia. The enormous open cut mine was one of the largest in the world in its heyday: opened in 1845, the mine filled with water when the mine closed for the second time in 1981. The vibrant green water is now a tourist attraction for the town. Looking directly down on tourboat pontoon moored on lake.
