Description
Cityscape of Utrecht with the Dom Tower. Utrecht is the capital and most populous city in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is the fourth largest city in the Netherlands. Utrecht's ancient city centre features many buildings and structures several dating as far back as the High Middle Ages. The most prominent building is the Gothic-style Dom tower, the tallest church tower in the Netherlands, at 112.5 metres (368 feet) in height. It is the symbol of the city. To the right is the remaining section of the Dom church. The two parts have not been connected since the collapse of the nave in 1674. It was destroyed by a tornado.
